1st Serve Tennis Coaching is a family owned and operated coaching business that has been operating continuously in the Camden area (Southwest of Sydney) since 1995, except for a short stint on Norfolk Island from 2000-2003. We pride ourselves as being the most experienced and up to date tennis instructors in the area, as we are always looking to improve our knowledge and expertise by attending the Australian Tennis Coaches Conference and other workshops coordinated by Tennis Australia. In recent years we have implemented the ANZ Tennis Hotshots Program, (a stepping stone for youngsters starting to play the game), as well as the Fitbit Cardio Tennis Workouts, which are becoming more and more popular every term.
We cater to all age group and standards in our coaching programs, from children as young as 4 years up to the elderly veterans of tennis who are still looking to improve their game!
“If you want to learn to play tennis or improve your tennis skills, then we can coach you!”
Our current coaching team consists of 4 Tennis Australia qualified coaches, Laurie Geist & Ben Geist (owners of the business), Dave Berthon and Maighan Duck, as well as 8 Junior Trainee coaches; Kell Jeffries, Ashley Grasso, Cayden Darley, Liam McKnight, Josh Drayton, Tanise Darley, Sarah Howlett and Oziaf Knot.

A Brief History
Head coach Laurie Geist started the business as a part-time second job to help support his growing family back in 1995. Within a year, his fun loving attitude and rapport with the kids saw the business flourish to the point where it was a viable full time option.
From 1995 - 2000 the business traded under the name Hit-Up Tennis, providing lesson for all ages on council tennis courts at Mt Annan, Catherine Fields and Leppington. In 2000, Laurie was offered the position of Head Coach/Manager of the Cheryl Tennis Club on Norfolk Island. After 3 amazing years on Norfolk, highlighted by trips to Australia and Fiji with a great Junior Tennis Team, as well as coaching the Norfolk Island Team at the South-Pacific Mini Games in 2002, Laurie headed back to his home town of Camden in 2003 to begin rebuilding his coaching business in Australia.
Starting from scratch and still only having access to small community courts in Harrington Park, Wilton, Douglas Park and Catherine Fields, Laurie slowly built back his clientele and reputation. In 2004, his son Ben graduated from year 12 and instantaneously completed his Tennis Australia Coaches Qualificiation. The business continued to grow in leaps and bounds with lesson programs now being co-ordinated at multiple venues on the same day.
